3D Surrealism

"Put the room on the women, rather than the women in the room"

Mary Katrantzou showed a Spring Summer collection in a surreal theme where interiors were used as the main element. Silhuettes along with accessories created an amazingly inspiring three dimensional effect on the designs. She also managed to create pieces that requires to be worn together. - No necklace to a dress means a room missing its chandelier).

Luxury Simplicity.

Kimberly Ovitz Spring Summer 2011 My all time favourite designer is Kimberly Ovitz. Her designs have a certain scandinavian feeling, where simplicity & edgy cuts are honored. After seeing her Spring Summer-11 collection, I fell in love again.

Maison Martin Margiela SS11 showed a collection of overdimensional forms, looking like paper doll outfits. Perhaps not the most practical pieces but the idea was very good. I like!

DAZED DIGITAL.

Loving the way Dazed Magazine posted a sum up of the latest fashion week on their facebook fanpage. In my opinion this is how social medias should work. Easy but useful information, that is sought after by the readers & right at hand. THANKS DAZED!

Vivienne Westwood's Red Label Spring 2011.

Vivienne Westwood choosed to highlight a cause with her Red label collection, the cause was the human rights of prisoners, Reprieve. The line were inspired by the female forms and tailoring. Pencil dresses, cowl necklines, Spanish-style frills and draped jersey frocks pretty much sums up the whole. & to contradict the femninity the models had their faces painted like warriors. Loving Westwood.

Street Styles

Perhaps the best part of the fashion weeks is when the street style photos are publishes - Especially Tommy Ton's. Totally love to watch how creative souls choose to communicate their personalities through their looks, Just so much inspiration! Here are my favourites from London FW.

TOPSHOP UNIQUE SS11

Topshop Unique showcased a collection in light colours combined with rusty red pieces. Light fabrics, details in cuts & head to toe colour matchings are key words for this line. Anyway, I love the hair.

Triumph Award.

Pic. columbine
I think the most blogged fashion show from LFW so far is the Triumph Inspiration Award - where 30 international design students showed off inspirational pieces they have done for Triumph. Bulgaria won (Second row, 3rd from left). My personal favourite was the michelin inspired one. (on top of the winner) - LOVE IT.

Charlotte Ronson

Another collection that catched my eye was Charlotte Ronson. It tells clearly what goes on from this season to the next with the keywords of Floral, Militar, Transparency, Miss-matchings & Mixing materials. All 3 collections clarify that laced wedges are still on.

Z Spoke by Zac Posen

Z Spoke by Zac Posen showcased a collection constructed of tailored pieces in bright colours inspired by lingerie and corsets. Along a sense of playfulness and a hint of drama. Absolutely fantastic!

Alexander Wang SS2011

Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2011 The Spring/Summer images is starting to pour in. The first one out is Alexander Wang S/S collection & to sum up Alexander's interpretation of the next season, the keywords would be - head to toe colour matchings and metallic applications in a colour scale of pastels. Laced wedges keeps on rocking. We love!
