Style Sharing August Review.

August review, Style Sharing August has been full of happenings, not only in my personal life but also in terms of inspiration and happenings within the fashion industry. Therefore I thought it could be interesting to look back at what have been posted this month here at Style Sharing. Here is a snapshot of some of my favourite posts from August. Which ones were yours?

IVANA Helsinki

Half Finnish as I am, I always enjoy keeping track of Finnish design. I like the way it feels very Scandinavian with clean cuts and minimalism and at the same time slightly more alternative than the rest of the Nordic countries.

I love Backstage

A backstage photo like this makes me want to fill up my autumn wardobe with new blazers, jackets, coats and loads of knits. This one is from Zara Autumn Winter lookbook.

Be COS

Cos new Autumn Winter campaign has the perfect tailored style that I'm aiming at this season. I really like that the outfits reminds me of menswear and Charlie Chaplin (for some reason). Anyway, the buttoned up shirt & the bow along with the suspender pants in the middle will be placed on top of my "to-buy" list for the season.

Fashion's Night Out

Fashion's night out
FNO is a yearly initiative, aimed to support the world's fashion and retail industries. It takes place in the world's most exciting fashion cities where the stores will be open until 11 pm. The cities tend to offer all kinds of fashion related activities instores and out on the streets. Everything from catwalks to new FNO collection has been created for this evening.
This is exactly why I love the fashion industry. Always something going on...

Vivienne at Selfridges

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD SHOES
AN EXHIBITION
1973 - 2010

Vivienne Westwood is exhibiting her shoes from 1973 until today at Selfridges in London. Start today! (26th of August) and will keep going to the 22nd of September. So if you pass by London these day, make sure to check it out. I certainly wish I could go.
More information concerning the exhibition can be found on the facebook fanpage.

New designer; Hakaan Yildirim

Hakaan Yildirim is the new star of the fashion world. The relatively unknown designer got huge media exposure after some of the most influential profiles such as Kate Moss and Carine Roitfeld booked them up for his first show. And I see why since the designs are amazing. The collection consists of well tailored looks celebrating the female forms. Minidresses in neutral tones, aggressively geometric silhouettes and sharp waists are keywords for his designs. I will definitely have an eye on him in the future.

Sthlm Street Style

Sthlm Street Style I just came across some street style images from Sthlm Fashion week at Elle.com. Not only that I really enjoy watching street styles, the Swedish fashionistas doesn't make it less exciting. I love the minimalistic styles, where cuts and linings are used as the main details of the outfits - A typical trademark for Swedish fashion.

Bimba&Lola

Bimba&Lola
The Spanish brand Bimba&Lola has a very nice assortment of accessories, shoes and clothing. The concept aims at a feminine woman with a sense of style and quality. Now they are about to launch their online shop, I just hope they'll provide shipping to sweden.

Fashion.

I were just thinking about that fashion is just such an amazing industry. So much creativity, hard work and innovation. I know it's not curing cancer but it sure brings something to this world.

Diana Orving & Weekday in collaboration.

Diana Orving has created a collection for Weekday that will be out in retail the 26th of August 2010. The collection is based on key elements and trademark pieces for Diane Orving. With that said the collection will offer sharp sense for draping, coat dresses and well tailored pieces for a contemporary women. So looking forward to see it in stores.

Targeting; Dots

Pic. from Anywho blog (I think)

At the moment I'm completely into polka dots. Especially blouses with different cuts, shapes and colours. I would definitely not say no to the beige one in the pic.

Autumn mood

Autumn winter 2010 Pic. Topshop Accessories

Today for the first time this year I have true autumn feelings. With that I don't necessarily refer to clothing and outfits, but more like palpable feelings of new beginnings, productivity and time to start taking things seriously again. Is it just me who tend to get those feelings when autumn brakes in?

Camilla Norrback

Camilla Norrback, Stockholm FW, border=

Camilla Norrback's collection at Stockholm FW showed a girly image in combination with a stylish and tailored look. My personal favourites of the collection are the 4 looks shown above (see more of the collection here).

Something that I paid extra attention to are the details in red that gives the looks a yet more personal appearance. Red in combination with mint green seems to make the colour shine through even stronger. I have to admit that I'm loving the contrast. I also happen to have a thing for nylon socks nowadays and after seeing this collection, my obsession is ever stronger.

J'aime mon carré

A street style website by Hermès called I love my scarf has recently been launched in close connection with facebook. The site has a focus on Hermès scarves and shows a selection of street style images from the fashion meccas NY, London, Paris and Tokyo, where all are wearing a scarf in one way or another. It is also intended to widespread the usage of scarves and displays several ways of how to wear them and how to personalize it to your style with small DIY tips.

Hermès has for long been associated with a classical and sometimes conservative brand culture. This youth orientated campaign will enhance the brand image amongst youngsters and receive a positive brand awareness among all fashionistas worldwide.

More of this type of communication, I certainly love it!

Shoe Trends

Two-colored boots is coming big this fall. Its all about playing with different, contrasting colours on the shoes. This trend is frequently combined with the laced up trend. (See below)

Semi-high boots is one of the fall's big IT. The boots should go to the upper calf, be straight and not be formed after leg-shape. The models are often inspired by rubber boots.

Laced up boots in all forms have been seen among many of the Fall/Winter catwalks. This trend take form in both flat-and high heeled pieces and is often combined with the trend of fur linigs. Practical to keep the feet warm this winter.

Over knee boots are a trend that still hangs in from earlier seasons, but this season is becoming more widely used in brighter colors and in suede. How hot!

my day in images.

These images pretty much summarizes my day.

CFW Continuity

Style in SS2011

Style in showed a collection based on feminine styles and a mature city chic image. The signatures of the line were the clean cuts within a colour palette of black, nude and grey, along with transparent fabrics and detailed cuts.

Munthe plus Simonsen SS2011
Munthe plus Simonsen (despite the rainy evening) pulled off their fashion show with excellence. The line showcased a etno-chic look leaving room for feminity. The colour scheme contained pale colours, mixed with rough black. The contrasts were created by the usage of accent colours in sharp red, green and pink.

Bruuns Bazaar SS2011

Bruuns Bazaar hold on to the Fall/winter-10 trend where full outfits were combined in same colours. Otherwise edgy cuts and combination of different fabrics were trademarks for the show. "Miss matchings" were also frequently showed and stripes combined with other patterns.

 BZR SS2011

BZR (The younger line of Bruuns Bazaar) offered a girlish collection where feminity was centralized. Ethereal fabrics in a pale colour scheme, maxi dresses and prints of different kind summarizes this collection.
